As a Google-certified UX Design Professional with over 15 years of experience in motion graphics and multimedia design, bringing a strong foundation in visual storytelling to user-centered digital experiences. My background spans agency, corporate, and defense environments, where I’ve translated complex ideas into intuitive, purposeful designs. I approach UX with the same philosophy that has guided my motion work: design should clarify, engage, and elevate the product through thoughtful, intentional decisions. Mobile App Design

This project focuses on a mobile app designed for The Happy Camper, an online camping supply company. The goal was to create an intuitive shopping experience that supports both experienced campers and users who are new to camping. Please see the Case Study below.

Case Study

Problem

User research revealed two primary challenges:

Many users wanted quick and easy solutions, especially when it came to product setup and usability.
New campers often felt overwhelmed by the number of products and were unsure which gear they actually needed.

These issues created friction during the shopping experience and made it harder for users to feel confident in their purchases.

Research & Insights

I conducted user research and competitor analysis to better understand user expectations and industry standards. Competitors such as REI and Dick’s Sporting Goods influenced the overall structure and feature set of the app. With this I was able to create User Personas and empathy Maps

Key insights included:

Users value clear indicators that simplify decision-making.
First-time campers benefit from guided purchasing experiences rather than browsing individual products.
Familiar navigation patterns help reduce cognitive load in e-commerce apps.

Solution

Based on research findings, I introduced two key features:

Certified Easy Icon – A visual indicator that highlights products with a low difficulty level for setup and use, helping users quickly identify beginner-friendly gear.
Camping Starter Kit – Curated product bundles designed to guide new campers through essential purchases while saving money and reducing overwhelm.

These features were designed to increase user confidence and streamline the shopping experience.

Design Process

I followed a full end-to-end UX design process, including:

Wireframing to establish layout and user flow
Iterative design refinement
High-fidelity prototyping to bring the final experience to life

Throughout the process, usability and clarity were prioritized to ensure the app felt approachable and easy to navigate.

Outcome

The final design delivers a simplified, user-centered mobile shopping experience that balances familiarity with thoughtful enhancements tailored to camping-specific needs. The app clearly communicates ease of use while supporting users at different experience levels.

Reflection & Learning

This project was a valuable learning experience that allowed me to work through the complete UX design lifecycle. I gained hands-on experience translating research insights into functional design solutions and creating features that directly address user pain points.

If I were to iterate on this project further, I would:

Conduct additional usability testing to validate feature effectiveness
Further refine onboarding for first-time users

Overall, this project strengthened my ability to design purposeful, research-driven experiences from concept to high-fidelity prototype.

Generative Web Design

This app was designed for Sierra Management & Technologies Inc. In research studies there we found there was a wide variety of shoppers to plan for. Some shopper want a quick and easy solution to camping so We included "Certified Easy" tab which highlight product with a lower degree of difficulty to set up. Some users were new to campng so we included a bundle a save checklist.
